Image above: Whether it’s his homemade stew or, in this case, kulolo, Ron Kouchi knows the way to his fellow state senators’ hearts — and votes — is their stomachs. Let's hope it's with GMO free ingredients. Amanda C. Gregg photo. From (http://www.midweekkauai.com/ron-kouchi/).
Our labeling bill, HB 174, has passed the House and now goes to the Senate!
This means Sen. Ron Kouchi becomes one of the major players, he is the vice president of the Senate and vice-chair of the Agriculture committee. As a leader in the Senate he should be supporting "Transparency" and open government, and we need to insist that "labeling" and our right to know gets a FAIR HEARING in the Agricultural Committee.
Thus far, the Ag. committee has not allowed any labeling bills to be heard. Many senators, including Ron receive sizable campaign monies from the GMO companies who are against our right to know.
Join us this Saturday (12:00noon) at Poipu, as Kauai stands up and MARCHES for their right to know, and their determination against GMOs.
Bring your Aloha, as this is a peaceful and respectful, family gathering and a chance to voice our clear message that we want a healthy and safe environment for ourselves, our keiki, our farm lands and food supply,
AND FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS. We need pesticide reform, sustainable agriculture, and the highest respect of our aina and natural resources.
Your help is needed:
THE MOMENTUM IS BUILDING KEEP THE WAVE GOING...WE CAN BECOME THE FIRST STATE IN THE NATION TO PASS A LABELING BILL
DO YOUR PART!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
