[IB Publisher's note: The kauai County Council passed this resolution 7-0]

Here's the resolution that I've introduced for Kauai County Council consideration on next Wednesday.September 26th, 2012.
Resolution No. 2012-52
RESOLUTION URGING THE 2013 HAWAII STATE LEGISLATURE TO REPEAL CHAPTER 171C OF THE HAWAII REVISED STATUTES (ACT 55, SESSION LAWS OF HAWAII 2011) RELATING TO THE DEPARTMENT OF LAND AND NATURAL RESOURCES AND THE
PUBLIC LAND DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION (PLDC).
This is of the highest importance to everyone who loves our people and our islands as I do.  The Governor & the Legislature may have had good intentions; however, somewhere in the actual language particulars, the bill, now act, went astray.

If they are committed to the PLDC acting in a completely pono way with regards to the people and the land, they should not have included all the parts of this act that would allow the PLDC to do otherwise in perhaps the singular, misguided pursuit of expedience and profit.

Please send your testimony to:   CouncilTestimony@kauai.gov

Please support Resolution # 2012-52 as if our life on Kauai depended on it. It Does. We will need people at the council meeting, as well as your written testimony.

This resolution will have a direct impact on the voting community come November. Awesome KipuKai, your coming forward with this will call out the rest of the county council members, the one's that we know through their own dialogue with community members, as well as each other, whether or not they will stand by the peoples wants! Another hawaiian term that they should incorporate into the hawaiian values that they supposedly govern their actions by- "HO'OLOHE" listen. Our people have spoken!
