Hawaii will send 34 delegates to the Democratic National Convention in July 2016. These delegates are allocated based upon Precinct Meeting voting numbers on March 26th. At the Precinct Meeting Democratic Party of Hawaii members are allowed one vote for their preferred Democratic Presidential Candidate.  This is different from a Caucus, because it is done by secret ballot.

WHAT:
Hawaiian Democratic Party Primary

WHEN:
Saturday, March 26, at 1:00 pm.

WHERE:
Use this updated Precinct Locator to find your polling place.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO VOTE:
Use this Presidential Preference Checklist to register to vote in the primary and to register as a Democrat, or to confirm your current registration.  If you register to vote, you will have to start over on the link above to then register as a Democrat.  Also, do not put your address number, or even the word street or road, just input the road name alone.

It is also possible to register in person on the day of the primary, but it may be busy and you can avoid the wait by registering online.  The party also advises coming early if registering in person.
